EV Charging Network Launched in DC Area by 350Green
350Green launched a public EV charging network in the Washington, DC and Baltimore metro areas at a ceremony held at The Fashion Centre of Pentagon City parking garage on December 2, 2011. Members of The Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington, DC were on hand for the dedication. Association members brought their electric cars which included three Chevy Volts, a Nissan Leaf, Smart Electric Drive, and a Tesla Roadster. The initial EV Charging Station rollout will include 13 DC Fast Chargers (Level 3) which can charge an Electric Vehicle in as little as 25 minutes. There will also be 34 Level 2 charging stations. All of the initial 47 charging stations are scheduled to be installed by the beginning of 2012 and will be at Simon Property Group and Walgreens locations in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
